Document Viewer for opening PDF files. Submitted on 7/4/2014 Review title of MarcellionWell Worth the MoneyI purchased this app thinking that it would be a nice little thing to play with, being the Start Trek fan that I am. However, after getting into it, I realized that this thing was way more than just a cute little app. The developer has obviously put into it hundreds if not thousands of hours in making not only a beautiful simulation of the Star Trek LCARS system with real working feedback, but also included in it functional apps such as calendar, music player, document readers, voice and video recorder, weather app, clock and a whole lot more. I can't recommend this app enough. Hopefully enough people buy it to make it worth the developer's while, cause it's one heck of an app.
Thanks Dev for this beautiful creation. Submitted on Review title of GeorgeI love this LCARS appI have seen some Star Trek but I am not a die hard fan. I came upon this app by accident and gave it a try. I LOVE this program! I wish it actually did more.
Everything about it works perfectly and is the easiest touch multipurpose interface I have ever seen / used. I now have it as a default for all my video play, its my on screen clock and weather as well. This is a great app. Make it completely take over as a shell for all windows and charge good money for it. We'll buy it. It would be worth it.
Silly load star trek sound effects. Need user adjustable color.
First a screenshot of my Desktop -The parameter design is the LCARSx32 program. The middle is Rainmeter. I will write a quick guide with links in case you all would like to get your desktop looking the same.My new tab page on Chrome:I posted this in and it barely got a response surprisingly to me. Anyway I thought I would re-post here because I would really like to see the community of users and possible developers grow as this dude Ray has been working on it since 2008.
It has a pretty good user base with a very helpful community. It runs as a separate program so no changing Windows.dll's and such. I have been using it now for a couple days with no glitches, voice recognition works great (it uses MSspeech).Download the.Than download if you do not have it and install.Than. Skin is pretty straightforward as you just double click it and it pretty much installs itself. (Make sure you run Rainmeter at least once).Than download a simple little and install.I used along with wallpaper to get the look I desired. I used apps for all pages with the option to make background transparent so it looks cooler. Here is a screenshot of a very cool lock screen (Which I set up to run per voice command).
The developer is working on getting voice to work as far as inputting your code to unlock currently, so crossing my fingers for that. It just runs as an executable, simple. Here is a very cool little complete with instructions and easy and quick to install. It doesn't change the login screen unfortunately, but it adds to the experience.I think that pretty much covers it. So I will give some cool HD wallpapers that you can use.
I use this as my main desktop background cause it looks good behind the Rainmeter app imo.I hope to bring more people to the community of LCARSx32, I have read talk about making an OS based around LCARS. There is some pretty cool implementations that really make workflow a little bit easier, of course there are glitches but the more people using it the more they can hopefully get those ironed out. Enjoy! Here is a quick that me and my brother did if you feel like checking it out, it only shows the basic how to download and install LCARSx32 and kind of how the voice works but it will also show LCARSx32 in action.I should note that currently it does have some small issues with Win8 as far as it losing desktop icons but there is stuff on the forums on how to combat that, and they are working on making it more compatible. Before I forget is a cool demonstration of how it works on touchscreen. I think they are making one for Android as well.
Have fun!EDIT/UPDATE: I almost forgot about. It is all in Japanese, but nothing good ole Chrome can't take care of. It has a bunch of little fun addons, mostly little flash videos that are just fun to bring up using voice commands, not many of them really have any functionality but it makes you feel just that much closer to Captain Jean-Luc Picard!.
